Born in Ankara in 1957, Chemical Engineer Celal Özel graduated from YTU in 1980.

He continued his education at Wimbledon College (London) between 1980 and 1983, studied foreign languages and received the "Business Administration" certificate. Returning to Turkey in 1984, Özel started working as a manager in the Akkök group of companies. Having worked as an Engineer at Akal between 1984 and 1986, Özel served as Operations Manager at Aktops Factory between 1986 and 1990, as Aktops Factory Manager between 1990 and 2002, and as General Manager at the same factory in 2002.
He served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry between 2009 and 2013.
In addition to these duties, Celal Özel also serves as Aktops Tekstil Sanayi A.Ş. within the Akkök Group of Companies. Member of the Board of Directors, Aksa Egypt Comp.A.Ş. Member of the Board of Directors, Akal Tekstil Sanayi A.Ş. Auditor Membership, Akkim Kimya San. Inc. He served as Auditor Member, Akkök Group of Companies Paint & Chemicals Board Chairman, Akkök, ADDK (Emergency Inspection Board) Chairman, Aksa-Aktops Packaging and Freight Improvement Board Chairman.
During his tenure, Özel received quality environmental treatment, finance, efficiency and leadership training at home and abroad. Between 2020 and 2023, he served as the chairman of the board of directors of Yebeltaş and Staff A.Ş., subsidiaries of Yalova Municipality. He is the Chairman of the Executive Board of Beyttürk Holding as of 2023.
